He might have a runner in The Everest but today Clayton Douglas’s focus was on his home track of Mornington.
The classy 4yr old gelding, Midnight Charm, raced away to win by 4.25L in the Neds Extra Nudge Handicap over 1000m. A great win on his home track for father Vic Douglas.
A bargain yearling buy at only $11,000 via the Inglis Digital Sale, Midnight Charm today made it 2 wins from only 4 starts in his short career.
“He’s a horse that’s taken some patience but we’re starting to reap the rewards” said Douglas. “There should be some better races in him from here”.
Craig Williams continued the successful partnership he’s started to develop with the young trainer after they shared a win with Giga Kick in the G2 Danehill Stakes on Saturday. Craig has passed up riding the Caulfield Cup meet to take the ride on Giga Kick in The Everest on 15th October, a good sign for the exciting 3yr old Scissor Kick gelding.
An exciting time to be involved with Clayton Douglas Racing and thanks to the team at home and all the support.
